Our first review of a supermarket ready to drink a cocktail and it's UK's largest supermarket chain Tesco. Their non alcoholic G&T comes premixed, ideal for that extra customer convenience. For this review, we are trying their full-calorie option.

Flavour review: Citrus and quinine

Opening a can of Tesco's G&T will fill your nasal pathways with a blast of lemon peel and citrus. The botanical and bitter aromas don't quite come through at this stage but this all changes once drunk. The mouthfeel is spot-on, with lots of carbonation and no syrupy or thin textures that sometimes affect nolo drinks. The citrus flavour dominates on the tongue, however, Tesco has done a good job bringing the bitterness from quinine, juniper and other botanicals together to create a palatable drink.

Value for money: Yes

As of January 2021 this was priced at £3.00 for 4x 250ml can directly from Tesco. At this price range, it's great value for money.

Comparison: Pre-Mixed Gin and Tonic

The pre-mixed G&T category has some strong alternatives with GinISH & Tonic and Seedlip's Grove 42 & Lemongrass Tonic being clear alternatives. We think Tesco doesn't quite reach their heights, however, it's nonetheless a strong value option at the lower price range.

Perfect for: On the go

Without the need to mix, you can enjoy this low alcohol G&T on the go. Great for those mid-week moments when you're a little pushed for time. Enjoy chilled or serve with ice and garnish with rosemary to make the flavours pop a little more.

Our opinion: Best for convenience

Pre-mixed so all of the 'hard work' is done for you. Just chill and enjoy.
