Another hit from ISH drinks. Rumish was one of the first non-alcoholic spirits we ever tried and it's one of our personal favourites. A great alternative to rum (obviously) that works a treat with sweet mixers or something with a hint of spice.

Flavour review: Sweet and a little spicy

The first flavour you'll notice is the Madagascan vanilla or the pungent nutmeg. Let the drink sit on your tongue for a moment and you'll feel a tingle from the chilli and then some caramel fruit notes right at the end. We mixed this with ginger beer, bitters and a wedge of lime as recommended on the bottle and we were left silent, a sign that we were impressed. It feels like a non-alcoholic drink you can sip and enjoy and nothing like a soft drink. The only slight thing we noticed was a strong vanilla aftertaste but to even it out we added a few more bitters for balance.

Value for money: Yes

As of February 2020 this was priced at £19.99 for a 50cl bottle. Although you can find some cheaper alternatives, we are big enough fans of this product to give it our value thumbs up!

Comparison: A sweetly spiced rum

As it is a drink designed to emulate an existing alcoholic spirit, it's hard not to measure it against a traditional Rum. However, a rum connoisseur would definitely turn their nose up at this. It is more akin to a dark spiced rum with its heavy notes of vanilla and sweetness.

Perfect for: Out Socialising

There's something about Rumish that will make you want to get on a plane to the Caribbean or go out, enjoy some great company and music. This is a perfect drink to enjoy in a social setting and given it's likeliness to rum, no one will even know you're not drinking the real thing.

Our opinion: Best for those with a sweet tooth

It looks like a rum, tastes like a rum (when mixed) and even smells like a rum. Mix it with ginger beer or coke for some great cocktails. Take the time to find the right mixer to best suit your palette, if it's too sweet use a drier ginger mixer.
