Our first review of a ready to drink cocktail is from one of our favourite brands, ISH drinks. GinISH & Tonic is a great option for when you don't want to have a go at playing the mixologist. Grab a can, pour over ice and enjoy a non-alcoholic alternative to a classic gin and tonic.

Flavour review: Sharp, bitter and zesty

Once you open a can of GinISH & Tonic you'll be greeted with the aroma that characterises any decent gin and tonic. The sharp, bitter notes from the tonic water and quinine, the fragrant spices of juniper and coriander seeds and then the refreshing citrus notes. Once you've taken a sip and pinched yourself that this drink does not contain alcohol, a complex balance of sour, spice and bitter flavours will take over. The juniper berries and coriander seeds add an earthy punch and combined with the tonic water and bitterness of the quinine, gives it the classic G&T Flavour. The zestiness of lime and orange then provides a clean and fruity finish to the drink. One thing we did notice was the spicy aftertaste. Not overpowering but there is a punch of chilli which adds to the complexity of the drink. We do feel some extra acidity would be welcomed for those who can be overwhelmed by chilli.

Value for money: Yes

As of June 2020 this was priced at £2.49 for a 25cl bottle at Holland and Barret. At this price range, it's comparable to similar alcoholic and non-alcoholic RTD cocktails on the market.

Comparison: Gin

Just like the bottled spirit, it's impossible not to compare this drink to a dry Gin and tonic. We think this product is so good that in a blind taste test it would be hard to tell the difference.

Perfect for: On the go socialising

Without the need to mix, you can enjoy GinISH & Tonic anywhere and anytime. Perfect for those mid-week moments when you're a little pushed for time or for socialising on the go. Just enjoy chilled or serve with ice.

Our opinion: Best for 'G&T' Lovers

Needless to say, if you're a fan of a gin and tonic, you've found you're convenient, canned cocktail here.
