Flavour review: Grassy, herby & balanced

Opening a can of Seedlip Garden 108 & Cucumber Tonic, the fragrant grass, hay and the peas. The aroma captures the essence of the English countryside, so Seedlip has delivered well here. A common theme with the other Seedlip RTD options, Garden 108 & Cucumber Tonic delivers on taste too. The grassy bitterness is well balanced with the cucumber tonic and there's a touch of citrus too that delivers a refreshing and pleasantly drinkable cocktail. We were even more impressed with the alchemy skills from Seedlip here. We thought that Garden 108 spirit was a little challenging with a strong bitter and herby flavour. However, the balance of this cocktail is well thought out and works a treat. 

Value for money: Yes

As of September 2020, this was priced at £2.50 for a 25cl can from Ocado. At this price range, it's comparable to other similar non-alcoholic and alcoholic pre-mixed cocktails. 

Comparison: Vodka or Gin

Garden 108 & Cucumber Tonic, as is common to the whole Seedlip range, is challenging to pinpoint a direct alternative. It has some of the qualities you'd expect from either a premium vodka or gin. With a bespoke cucumber tonic, we recommend you try the drink for a balanced and refreshing taste of the English Garden.

This drink has cross-over appeal, it has the complex characteristics needed for a non-alcoholic cocktail, with a mixture of adventure and curiosity blended with just a touch of familiarity.

Our opinion: An unique drinking experience

A combination of grassy flavours, garden peas, woody herbs and a bespoke cucumber tonic gives makes this drink welcoming a new addition into the no and low-alcohol market.
