Brewdog announces a 0% ABV version of Lost Lager, a beer brewed using wind power, a third less water and waste bread.
Over the last few years founder of Brewdog James Watt has been focussing on the brands sustainability and how they can reduce their impact on the environment. And as of February 2021, Brewdog recently become a B Corp. B Corporations are part of a global community of businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social & environmental performance to help build a better world.
To celebrate this Brewdog launched a beer called Lost Lager, a 4.5% German-style Pilsner that has been brewed using wind power, a third less water than standard practice, and waste bread that would otherwise be discarded. A great initiative and I am sure this will become standard for the global brewery.
In March 2021, James tweeted that he will be creating an alcohol free version of Lost Lager, which will aim to be the world's first carbon negative lager. It will also be the brands first 0.0% ABV offering, they currently have three alcohol free beers but they all sit at 0.5% (Check out our reviews of Nanny State and Punk AF.)
In typical James Watt style, he has opened the naming of the new beer out to the public, with two options; either Lost Zero or Lost 0.0%. Regardless of the name chosen we will be excited to try this new beer.
